21A – Reading Reflection No. 2
Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan
*What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The general theme was that marketing is not always about making people see at your business name. The theme was that outbound marketing is considered past. The new way to apply marketing is inbound because that is the best way to move forward. Finding essential information about a product, increases the chances to buy the product.
* How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
The book definitely was very informative on how to conduct marketing in a business. I have learned that inbound marketing is better, and also that i have to stay away from outbound marketing. It definitely changed my idea on what i think of marketing and gave me a lot of knowledge in my entrepreneurial learning experience.
* If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would the exercise involve?
The exercise that I would design would be a marketing exercise. Possibly a blog, that pushes students to think of ways that they can do marketing on their business idea.
*What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations?
I must say that my knowledge in marketing was super low before reading this book so I could say that this book shaped the way i think of marketing. I know that marketing is key to any business, and always having knowledge on this important topic is highly important. In the book, i learned that S.E.O. tactics used, are always legitimate making huge differences.

I also read this book it was readily available as well as concise and overall very helpful and I’m glad that you found value in it too I feel like it’s applicable to every kind of business established or not.
ReplyDeleteSebastian,
ReplyDeleteAs I was telling Melanda in my peer review for her, Brian Halligan has a Ted Talk that I am eager to watch. From the tone of your blog post, its sounds like you are very fond of this book so I encourage you the watch the Ted Talk as well. You never know, you may pick up extra information from the Ted Talk, to add to the abundance that you received from the book. In the famous words of Warren Buffett, "The more you learn, the more you learn."
